Jamila Taylor, MD

Dr. Taylor attended Hampton University in Virginia for her undergraduate studies then returned home to attend Wayne State University School of Medicine.  During her residency at Providence, Dr. Taylor was chief resident and recognized for her outstanding teaching skills with the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine award. Her passion to reach and teach her community, led her to work for a federally qualified health center in the Detroit neighborhood where she was raised.  Since her return to Providence, Dr. Taylor has participated on the Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, Health Systems Management, Recruitment, and serves as Medical Director. Within the hospital, she was appointed to the Community Advisor Council and has participated in the Community Health Needs Assessments since 2016. She also is on the MAFP Practice Management Committee, and has been appointed to serve on the AMG MI Board. Outside of work, Dr. Taylor enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends-especially her husband and daughter.
